For children with type 1 diabetes(T1D), adverse effects on bone mineral density (BMD) begin early in the course of disease, according to study results published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.

A Dutch lifestyle intervention has helped people with type 2 diabetes reduce their medication doses over a six-month period. Compared to before the study, average HbA1c levels dropped by 5 mmol/mol (0.4%) and the number of participants whose HbA1c was below 53 mmol/mol (7%) increased from 36% to 60%.
